Why Stop4Aidan exists — in our family’s words.
On May 31, 2014, while walking across a crosswalk in Pasadena, CA with family and friends, our 7-year-old son was tragically struck and killed in front of us all by a driver who made a careless right turn into the crosswalk.
Aidan was a loving brother, son, and friend. The loss of his life has been felt deeply by many. To honor the memory of our son, we decided that we needed to do as much as we could to stop a preventable tragedy like ours from happening to anyone else.
Our organization is small, and we welcome the opportunity to work with other organizations that share our goals — increasing pedestrian and cyclist safety, educating drivers, and creating a safe place for remembering the loved ones who left us too soon.
“He was an amazing person and would have carried that through to adulthood. Aidan had such a kind heart and took care of his little brother and always kept an eye out for everyone.” — Aidan’s mother
